OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe that this just happened! When I got up this morning to get the kids ready for school I got an opportunity off my Paid Posting work with my other blog...not just any opportunity but a $50 one and I only had to do a 300 word advertisement.... I have tried many times to get one but never any luck but I was determined to eventually get one, well today was the day...now I am just waiting to have it approved!

GETTING BY WITHOUT DADDY....

Matt headed to Halifax this afternoon for meetings and will be back Thursday night after the kiddies are in bed. They don't adjust to well to him not being here but we will have a busy couple of days and he will be home before they know it.
This morning started off pretty busy rushing to get the groceries before Matt had to leave, but the hardest thing about the whole experience was finding enough room in the fridge, freezer and cupboard to put all the food...but that's how it is when you get groceries once a month....Matt gets a kick out me trying to find room to put everything, it's like my own once a month jig-saw puzzle project, however this time I was getting a little worried and Matt was laughing it up! But I showed him...everything fit!
After playing with the dried up old playdoh...Kohl's bear ? and Trin's pig ?It was getting later and the kids were realizing that daddy wasn't coming home tonight and they were starting to get a little upset so we opened up the ice cream containers and had a treat...
THANKS DADDY FOR THE SURPRISE!

ANY VIEWERS OUT THERE?

I was just wondering how many people are taking the time to check out our family blog???? There is no way to keep track of how many viewers we are getting and the only way we know you are here visiting is by leaving us a comment!
Working on this site can be time consuming and can take time away from the kiddies and with the lack of comments I can only assume that no one is visiting the site, so if your visiting PLEASE just leave a comment even if it only says hi!
Thanks you very much

ANOTHER BUSY DAY

Yesterday we spent the day getting things down around the outside of the house but first we had to get Jay registered for Basketball Camp. He goes on Saturday morning for the next 6 weeks. I'm glad to see that he is getting started in his sports. In the afternoon we finally got some exterior painting done and the windows look much better, We are still getting new windows for the front of the house in the spring but for now this will do....We got a small break from the work around here when we took Jay to his first girl/boy birthday party at the bowling alley, He had a great time! We finished off the night by renting a moving and spending time together. We watched "Every One's Hero"! A great movie....
This morning brings another busy day at the Smith household, with computer assignments that need to get done, some housecleaning which Matt has started, more outside painting and cleaning up the yard. Sounds like we will be heading off to bed early tonight!

Matt stuck on the roof painting Blakes Window...(now it won't open, another project for today)

Jay brought home treat bags for Trin, Kohl and Blake...

Matt and his unique way of vacuuming....to bad I missed the dance.... and as for me I am still at the computer getting you all updated on our weekend. Hope you enjoy! I am off to clean the yard!

WALKING- WALKING- WALKING (Friday)

4 out of 5 ain't bad....We managed to get 4 good walks in this week, We usually walk the kids to school, come home curl up on the couch for a show or two, sweep the floor then around 10:30 head out on our walk. It takes us a little over an hour to get to Zellers or the play park by the ferry terminal, so either way it's a good walk. We cheat on the way back and get a drive.... Friday I was a sucker for punishment...walked the kids to school, then to the play park and after lunch on our way home Jay's school was just leaving to do the Terry Fox run so I drove home and met up with them. We walked to the ball field across from our house and played Frisbee for an hour and then walked back. Good timing, Trin and Kohl were just finishing school so I go them and we walked back home....I tell you by the end of the day my legs feel like rubber!

The view along our walking root...
Blake enjoys his walks...most days he's asking me to go!Blake and mommy down the slide...tight fit!
I changed things up a little on Friday, instead of walking to Zellers to meet Matt I took Blake to the play park beside the ferry terminal and Matt met us there on his lunch break and took us to McDonalds!

Blake watching the ferry....

This was the first time that there were two ferries coming and going at the same time, double the excitement for him this time!

Blake was excited to see the ferry dock....another first!

THE TERRY FOX RUN WITH JUBILEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Jay walking with his classmates...Circling the ball field....

It's Frisbee time, let's have fun!

A MUST READ POST....

Matt did up a really nice post on his site about him and Jay. Go on by his site and check it out at 1 Males Perspective. He tells how it has been between him and Jay over the past while with always butting heads and how things have changed since we've moved! It should be titled "AWKWARD AGE"
(***hey mom I will help you out here....just click the mouse on the words...1 Males Perspective...it should take you right to his site***)

BAKING COOKIES

I took some time this afternoon with Blake and bakes some chewy chocolate chip cookies! He was a great help and he rolled all the cookie dough into balls. He was so proud of himself and so was I. Between him and the kids after school there aren't any cookies left...looks like we will be baking cookies again tomorrow!

UNEXPECTED PARADE...

Well what excitement we just had, we were out front putting up our new outdoor light when a parade of well over 100 hundred motorcycles with toys on the back went right in front of the house. It was something to see! With all the excitement I forgot to get the camera. The kids even saw Santa Claus on one of the bikes and a few chopper bikes went by as well. The bikers had fun with the kids and the horns were beeping! I think we were the only ones out around our house watching but hey it was fun, I think we might head out here in a few minutes to see where they were meeting up!

MOVIE NIGHT AT THE SMITHS

So we decided that we would take the night and do something special with the kids, by this time it was to late to head out to the movie theatre and further more with 6 of us it cost a fortune, and they are getting tired of watching from our own movie collection, we took them down the road to the movie rental store. We haven't done this with them in at least 3 years, since we lived in PEI, we just buy the movies when they come out in stores and bring them home for them. This worked out pretty well for us and the kids had a great time picking out a movie, well it ended up to be 2 before we left because we got a free bag of popcorn by doing so. It was a great night with them and we could tell that they had really enjoyed our time together. Last nights movie was "FIREHOUSE DOG" it was awesome, it's a must buy for this house. Today before supper we will sit down and watch "ARTHUR AND THE INVISIBLES".

JOKE

Matt sent me this joke this moring and I got a chuckle out of it. I hope it does the same for you so I thought I would share it....

An old man, Mr. Wallace, was living the last of his life in a nursing
home. One day he appeared to be very sad and depressed. Nurse Tracy
asked if there was anything wrong.
"Yes, Nurse Tracy," said Mr. Wallace, "My Private Part died today,
and I am very sad."
Knowing her patients were forgetful and sometimes a little crazy, she
replied, "Oh, I'm so sorry, Mr. Wallace, please accept my
condolences."

The following day, Mr. Wallace was walking down the hall with his
Private Part hanging out his pajamas, when he met Nurse Tracy.
Mr. Wallace," she said, "You shouldn't be walking down the hall like
that. Please put your Private Part back inside your pajamas."
But, Nurse Tracy," replied Mr. Wallace, " I told you yesterday that
my Private Part died."

"Yes, you did tell me that, but why is it hanging out of your
pajamas?"

(You gotta love this ...)

Well, he replied, "Today's the viewing."

WEDDING DAY!

Amanda and Steven

Well Amanda and Steven, this is the day you both have been waiting for. I am so sorry I'm not there to share in this special day but I will be thinking of you both! Have a great trip and I am looking forward to seeing lots of pictures on our next visit home.
Enjoy your day as you take this journey to new beginnings together!

DANCE CLASS - FIRST NIGHT

HIP HOP

So we are home from the kids first class of hip hop dancing and it was great. Kohl did better than I had expected for the first class. He wasn't one bit shy and he was willing to give the new dance moves a try. I could just see the excitement in his face. Tonight they worked on doing the knee spin and the coffee grinder.... Trinity, well she is a natural at it and had so problems with it at all. They are both looking forward to going back again next week. It was so cute when I asked Kohl how he enjoyed his class he said " Mom, I loved it! I told you my world was all about dancing." All the parents thought he was just adorable and were glad to have him in their daughters class. They are looking forward to the great choreography with having a boy in the class.

GARAGE TRANSFORMATION

Turning our cluttered garage into a workshop for Matt a dance studio for Trinity and a games room for the family. Lots of work to do and we are planning on finishing by Spring "08. The kids are already having a blast out there....more pictures to come.

REMEMBERING 9/11

Taking the day to remember all of those innocent people who were hurt or killed in the 9/11 crash...it's hard to believe it's already been 6 years.

LAST WEEKEND IN THE POOL AND THE NEW BATHROOM SINK

SPLISH! SPLASH!

The kids and Matt enjoyed one of their last swims in the family pool. It was 30 degrees today and they really needed to cool off. They had a great time splashing, diving over the side (you know what I mean mom) and getting flipped in the air. I let Matt enjoy the time in the pool with the kids, he deserved a break from the upstairs bathroom sink renovation. I mowed the lawn and boy it was hot...

This picture of Kohl was actually yesterday after school, he was exhausted!
BATHROOM RENOVATION
Here is how our little renovation turned out in the upstairs bathroom. We hated the old sink that was there so we thought we would try a nice new vanity, but the big question for us was...???"Will it fit?" It was such a small space but we worked it out. We can't open one of the door but it's the look we were going for....

Blake giving daddy some suggestions on what to do next...

Finally the carpentry work is done ( had to cut for all the pipes)

Matt's first time attempting a plumbing job! The job is finished and no leaking water...(yet!)

Now for the before and after shot!

BEFORE

AFTER

Looks pretty good don't ya think?!!!! Now if we could only do something about that tub...
